Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
On this site you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes is also available to download.
A big well done to all of our 29,500 2020 participants, both in school and at home! Here's a look at what they got up to by participating in the project!
Meet the Incredible Edibles Team:
Incredible Edibles School of the Week!
School:Scoil Iosagain County: Donegal Teacher:Ms. Lisa Mc Shane Class Level: 2nd class Description: "Our school garden had been a bit neglected recently so my class took on the task of cleaning it up, starting back in October. They have worked so incredibly hard. The addition of the wildflowers led to lessons on Bees and current conservation projects to save pollinators. They are now embarking on a 'Save Our Bees' project, in partnership with our local GAA club, designing posters and badges and getting sponsorship to create Mini Bee Gardens- planters with bee friendly plants- for the school and hopefully around the community". Great work guys! Obair Iontach!
Healthy Eating week will take place May 4th - May 10th 2020 and relates to Task 5 in the logbook.
