Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
On this site you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes is also available to download.
A big well done to all of our 29,500 2020 participants, both in school and at home! Here's a look at what they got up to by participating in the project!
Meet the Incredible Edibles Team:
Incredible Edibles School of the Week!
School:Killavullen National School County:Co. Cork Class Level: Junior Infants Description: We have planted potatoes and strawberry plants. Each child choose their own vegetable seeds to plant. The vegetable seedlings 🌱🌱were taken home on Thursday 29th to plant at home.
Unfortunately we don’t have a raised bed to plant the seedlings at school and felt the seedlings would have become leggy over the long weekend.
We will continue to look after the potatoes 🥔 and strawberries 🍓and hopefully will harvest a crop in June 🤞🤞 Great Work Killavullen National School! 🙂
Healthy Eating week will take place May 10th - May 16th 2021 and relates to Task 5 in the logbook. As part of this week, students should record their daily intake of potatoes, fruits and vegetables to complete this task. Click the button below to access the Incredible Edibles Healthy Eating Diary, which you can print off for your students.
