Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
On this site you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes is also available to download.
A big well done to all of our 29,500 2020 participants, both in school and at home! Here's a look at what they got up to by participating in the project!
School:Bree National School County: Co. Wexford Teacher:Ms. Paula Dempsey Class Level: 2nd class Description: "So far the children have been looking at different food items in their fridges and cupboards. They did some research into what each food item looked like before it got into their house. For example, cheese came from a cow.
Then they chose one fruit or vegetable and researched all the steps to bring the food from farm to fork creating posters, diagrams and PowerPoints. I am extremely impresses with the IT skills of my second class pupils and all the hard work they are putting into the project so far!" Great work guys! Obair Iontach!
