Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
On this site you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes is also available to download.
Meet the Incredible Edible Team:
Incredible Edibles School of the Week!
School:St. Catherine's National School Rush County: Dublin Teacher:Ms. Lorraine O'Neill Class Level:6th Class Description: We are really enjoying our incredible edibles tasks. This week we had a visit from a local company that packages and distributes fruit and vegetables around the country, John from Green Growers. Some of this fruit and vegetables are grown locally in our community. We are now on the final task filling in our charts for healthy eating week. We are caring for our plants , we have cooked and baked some tasty food and visited our local Tesco to spot Irish produce for sale.
Healthy Eating week will take place May 11th - May 15th 2020 and relates to Task 5 in the logbook. As part of this week, students should record their daily intake of potatoes, fruits and vegetables to complete this task.
