Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Schools are supplied with grow packs containing everything they need to grow a veritable feast of healthy foods!
On this site you can download curriculum linked activity sheets, log book, a growing planner and you will also find growing videos to help you get set up. Everything that's needed to learn about where food comes from and the importance of fruit, vegetables and potatoes is also available to download.

Incredible Edibles School of the Week!
School:St. Joseph's National School Kinvara County: Galway Teacher:Ms. Aine McGrath Class Level:5th Class Description:We recently went to our local Farmers Market and met with some local producers there. We also got advice on growing our own vegetables from a local market gardener who also visited our school garden. We met with Burren Gold cheeses which are produced locally in the Burren. Co Clare. We also met with @galwaybaybakery who produce bagels locally. It was a fantastic morning and the producers were so welcoming and enthusiastic about what they do. Very encouraging for the children in a rural area. We also had a cookery demonstration from a local Home Economics teacher! She made some soup that everyone got to sample afterwards.
Healthy Eating week will take place May 20th - May 24th 2019 and relates to Task 5 in the logbook.
